Islands' Ports Closed To Russian Vessels

Russia-registered boats and ships have been banned from calling at the Channel Islands' ports.

It's part of the latest raft of sanctions introduced by Guernsey and Jersey following the country's invasion of Ukraine.

Restrictions have also been placed on any vessel flying the Russian flag or owned, controlled, chartered or operated by anyone connected with Russia.

The States of Guernsey has also announced it plans on following Jersey in closing its airspace to Russian aircraft.

New regulations state that with immediate effect, no aircraft which is owned, chartered or operated by a person connected with Russia is allowed to fly in the airspace above the Bailiwick of Guernsey or its territorial waters.
