Islanders on Income Support should receive the £50 a week payment automatically.
The Winter Fuel Allowance is a payment made by Social Security to qualifying households on Income Support.
It will come into effect automatically from the end of October and is paid at £50.48 for the coming six months.
The payment is designed to ease the financial burden of heating homes, given the high cost of utilities and fuel oil.
Islanders on Income Support who have an illness or disability meaning they have to spend more on items like clothing or a special diet may also be able to claim an Extra Needs Allowance of £20 per week.
Some may also qualify for help with medical costs.
Deputy Tina Bury, President of the Committee for Employment & Social Security, says winter can be tough financially, especially for
households most in need:
"We want to make sure that anyone who may be entitled to support knows what help is available and how to access it. If you are financially struggling, I strongly encourage you to contact our Income Support team to explore these, and other, options that may be available to you."
