Two 17 year old students from Guernsey have spent the past year developing a brand-new sports drink designed for young sports enthusiasts, and are seeking crowdfunding for the final push.
Callum Richards and Henry Chamberlain have invested their own savings, travelled to a UK factory and worked with industry professionals to create a final recipe, branding, packaging concepts, and complete a full health and safety compliance check.
They say they now have samples, a production plan, and a clear route to market.
ChargePlus drinks will be a naturally sourced sports energy and protein drink, eliminating the need for two different drinks.
The pair say they are trying to create a healthier, cleaner alternative to other drinks that are better suited to young people:
"We are want to eliminate the need for buying two drinks at the gym - a protein and an energy drink. We think it will save people money
"We've done sample testing in the sixth form centre and at the Tennis and Padel Centre.
"We're now trying to decide on a logo. We've had many designs, but we can't decide on one that fits our brand properly.
"There's a stereotype that all energy drinks are bad, and we want to move away from that, that do the same things that Redbull will do, but have those health benefits."

To launch their first production run, they need to raise £12,000 and are asking for community support to help with the final step.
The money will go towards production, marketing, and further testing.
They are also committing the first £1,000 of profit to The Guernsey Sports Commission.
