The Torteval Scarecrow Festival enjoyed bumper takings meaning Guernsey charities benefit.
45 scarecrows were waiting in the Torteval lanes for the hundreds of passers by that attended the Festival over the last weekend in July.
One of the organising committee, Sue Brooks, tells us it was a mammoth effort getting the show together and that putting it on is expensive too.
However, she says the weather this summer made the event even more appealing to locals and visitors and the quality of entries was high.
The takings were good too, despite the nominal amount charged for entry and parking.
As a result, £10,000 will be donated to various island charities.
In addition, the organisers were delighted to be able to gift Victim Support £2237 while Bright Beginnings collected £2039.
