Drivers will be pulled over by the Roads Policing Unit to check the condition of their cars.
Guernsey Police say winter presents extra driving hazards like wet, slippery roads and cars need to be up to the job.
Their Roads Unit will be at undisclosed locations this month, pulling drivers over and checking lights, tyres, windscreen wipers and windscreen defects.
Police say these can affect performance and driver visibility and increase the chances of a crash.
They also say that cars parked alongside the roadside at night should not be facing in the direction of oncoming traffic as this is an offence.
They say the will issue a £65 fine if see cars parked this way.
Separately, a filter is to be created at the junction of Barras Lane and Pleinheaume Road and Lane.
Traffic and Highways say it is a busy junction with limited visibility and the feedback from road users is that there are a number of near misses between vehicles.
The work will take place later next week, 12 and 13 February.
