Guernsey flights impacted by UK air traffic control issue

Some flights between Guernsey and the UK today (8 September) have been cancelled or delayed because of an issue with UK air traffic control.

Flight departures from the UK are being hit by an issue at air traffic control.

NATS says it's identified a problem in its processing system and is working to resolve it.

Some flights between Guernsey and the UK have been affected.

Currently, the Bristol flight has been cancelled, while the services to Heathrow, Gatwick, and London City have been delayed.

Guernsey Ports Airport Director, Richard Thomasson, says the airport may stay open later tonight to reduce disruption.

“Flights to and from Guernsey Airport are currently affected by a technical issue impacting National Air Traffic Services (NATS) in the UK.

“Passengers are advised to check the Guernsey Airport website, or with their airline, for the latest flight information.

“Guernsey Ports is working closely with airlines and operational partners to manage disruption.

"Provision has been made to extend airport operating hours this evening if required.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.”
