Engine fault sees private jet diverted to Guernsey Airport

Guernsey Airport operations were disrupted for an hour when a Jersey-bound jet made an emergency landing.

A private business jet made an emergency landing at Guernsey Airport this morning (8 September).

It was flying from Geneva to Jersey when it reported an engine problem and declared an emergency.

The pilot asked to divert to Guernsey, where the aircraft landed safely at 10.39am.

The Airport Fire Service inspected the jet before the Air Accidents Investigation Branch gave permission for it to be removed from the runway.

The Bombardier Challenger 350 is operated by VistaJet, a luxury private aviation company.

Normal airport operations resumed at around 11.30am.
