RNLI, ambulance, police and fire crews rescued a person stuck near the Cow's Horn in St Peter Port.
Guernsey's emergency services were called at around 5am on August Bank Holiday Monday morning.
An ambulance was initially sent to the scene but it was apparent that access was easier by sea, so the vehicle diverted to the harbour.
Here, the RNLI inshore lifeboat was used to take paramedics to the patient.
Initial first aid had been administered by the police, who were first on the scene.
The patient was transferred to the inshore lifeboat, and, in a complicated operation, was then put aboard the main lifeboat and taken to the harbour.
Here an ambulance was waiting for the transfer by road to the PEH.
Ambulance and Rescue say the operation shows the importance of co-operation:
“This was another good example of joint working by Guernsey’s emergency services, with good coordination and communication from those involved.
"We would like to thank the volunteer RNLI crew of both lifeboats for their assistance with this incident."
