The Dogs Stars is on general release this week and will be showing at Guernsey's Mallard cinema.
A yellow, beaten-up-looking Cessna Skywagon can easily be spotted in the trailer for The Dog Stars, which goes on general release on Friday (28 August).
The plane, seen cruising above a post-apocalyptic landscape, is on Guernsey's 2-REG aircraft registry as 2-MMWD.
The film, by Aliens director Ridley Scott, is set in a post-pandemic world where the few survivors are pitted against each other.
It was mainly shot in Italy last year and stars Jacob Elordi, an Australian actor known for his leading roles in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth trilogy, HBO’s Euphoria, and portraying Elvis Presley in Priscilla.
The plane itself was painted and made to look old, especially for its role.
In normal life, according to Flight Radar 24, the six-seater is used regularly for private flights around Britain.
2-REG was set up in Guernsey in the early 2010s and is a registry often used by aircraft owners and leasing companies who are transferring an airliner to a different lessor or jurisdiction.
It is also used by a number of local private planes.
