Local troupe Drum Machine Theatre has been commended at the National Drama Festival, following success in Guernsey.
The play Brothers was taken to the National Drama Festival by new theatre group Drum Machine Theatre, who had first performed it at Guernsey's One Act Play Festival.
The two-hander with Simon de La Rue and Dave Hyett won the adjudicator's award.
Particular praise was given to the new theatre company in its handling of a physical abuse scene.
Simon knew the scene called Spilt Milk was going to be demanding:
"It was particularly gratifying to collect an award for this scene because it was a particular challenge to get right"
In her closing speech, Chair of the National Drama Festival Association, Ruth Cattell thanked Guernsey Arts for helping with the funding of the island's entry.
