BeActive is providing balance bikes for public use in the island's parks this summer.
The BeActive team at the Health Improvement Commission are putting balance bikes in parks for islanders to use for free this summer.
They aim to make it easier and more accessible for all children to practise and enjoy cycling safely.
Balance bikes are designed without pedals, allowing children to focus on balancing and steering.
The bikes have adjustable saddles and helmets will also be provided.
The Commission has funded painted markings, including yellow lines and mini roundabouts at Saumarez and Cambridge Parks, which children can use to learn road and cycling safety.
They have said that they are relying on the public to use and look after the bikes on an honesty basis.
Most of the bikes have been donated by people in the community, and they are looking for any other donations where possible.
Users are encouraged to take a selfie next to the storage box and tag @healthimprovegg if they post it, and they’ll be in with a chance to win a new balance bike at the end of summer.
