A 'smiley face' speed sign in St Saviour has been vandalised.
Parish officials say the padlock has been cut and batteries removed and thrown on the ground.
They reckon whoever did it would have had to use a ladder.
The damaged Speed Indicator Device (SID) - one of several in the parish and across the island - is on La Commune.
The parish says it's cost the parish money and jeopardised efforts to keep the community safe.
"If you have any information regarding this incident, please get in touch. Let’s work together to protect our roads and keep everyone safe."
