The Chief Minister has made changes to her top team following the departure of Constable Andy Jehan from the Council of Ministers.
St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft has been made Assistant Chief Minister.
Constable Jehan resigned from the position on Sunday (26 November) citing 'severe concerns' over the running of the Health and particularly the 'indefensible' cost of the Health Advisory Board.
The Chief Minister said she regretted but respected his decision.
Deputy Kristina Moore has since confirmed some changes to the COM.
In addition to Constable Crowcroft's ministerial appointment, External Relations Minister Deputy Philip Ozouf takes on another portfolio - becoming Assistant Health and Social Services.
Assistant Social Security Minister Deputy Malcolm Ferey joins the States Employment Board, with Social Security Minister Deputy Elaine Millar set to become SEB Vice-Chair. Their workload will now include trying to resolve the ongoing teachers' pay row.
In a statement announcing the appointments, Deputy Moore said:
"The appointment of the Connétable of St Helier brings further valuable experience to the Council of Ministers and will ensure that sustainable regeneration, particularly in St Helier – home to one third of Jersey’s population – continues to be a priority area of focus.
“We are boosting the Ministerial team in Health to support our work to deliver the necessary service improvements and greater efficiency, as well as to explore opportunities for joint working with Guernsey."
