Verona-based airline Air Dolomiti will run flights to and from Munich every Saturday until 28 October.
Air Dolomiti is arriving in Jersey today (27 May) for the first of 23 flights to and from the third-largest German city.
Holidaymakers will be coming to Jersey in one of the company's two 120-seat Embraer 190 aircraft, added to the fleet in January.
CEO of Ports of Jersey Matt Thomas says this is an important route, connecting Jersey with Germany throughout the summer season.
"It’s important that we attract visitors from Europe as well as from the UK, as tourism plays a critical role for the island.
It employs people, supports the hospitality sector, and contributes to the economy."
Air Dolomiti is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa which operated the route last summer.
The flights are mainly inbound and tourism-focused, but as it is a scheduled service, islanders cam also fly direct to Munich.
"Without incoming visitors, we would not be able to retain the wide variety of air and sea routes we have become accustomed to.
We look forward to many successful years of collaboration with Air Dolomiti as they develop their Jersey route.”
