'X' Nightclub will play tech and house on its £70,000 sound system.
A new nightclub opens in St Helier this weekend (17 and 18 October),
'X' Nightclub has a house & tech music policy designed to support local DJs.
The building on Beresford Street was previously home to Rojo, which announced its closure in November 2023 after 11 years in that location.
Previously, it was La Cala, and before that The Venue. Clubbers of the eighties will remember it as Lords.
The club is a resuscitation attempt for Jersey nightlife, with several venues closing their doors in recent years.
When Rojo announced its closure in November 2023, the operators said: 'Everything is stacked against having a vibrant night-time industry.'
More were to echo this sentiment.
Havana, which was one of the few remaining Jersey clubs when it closed, hosted its final night in December last year after 14 years.

Vittoria, once Mimosa, has been the only dedicated dance floor left in Jersey, but many wouldn't class it as a classic 'nightclub'.
X is promoting itself as 'proper clubbing' returning to Jersey.
Excitement has been building from those on the scene:
DJ Stephen Rousseau: "All the best to the X Club team to kickstart the Jersey Dance/Party/Nightlife scene after its systematic destruction for the past 5 years.
"This is a much much needed proposition for all music lovers.
"I can't wait to listen and feel this brand new Funktion One sound system and of course play on it in due course."
Jon Peacock, Star-Delta Electrical:
"Thankfully Jersey now has one of its historic haunts back on the map, fantastic news for the club scene on the island.
"I’ll be playing at X this Saturday
"Brand new club with a brand new Funktion 1 System installed, plus some pretty cool lighting too."
Lee Pinglaux, digital creator:
"Very exciting times for the Jersey scene this weekend with @x_nightclubjsy opening its doors publicly for the first time this Friday…
"Last week’s sneak peek showed a lot of promise, and a totally unrecognisable space to when the building had its previous iterations as Rojo, La Cala etc etc
"The club has a great house & tech music policy which is designed to support local DJs, which is something that has been missed recently!"
