The 32-year-old was was caught by Jersey Customs officers trying to import around £10,500 of cocaine internally.
Andrew Patrick Borland from Salisbury was sent down for five years and three months after admitting to the importation.
He arrived as a foot passenger on board a Condor vessel from Poole, before being taken aside by Jersey Customs and Immigration Services (JCIS) officers and their sniffer dog.
Borland told officers he was travelling to Jersey to obtain work as a scaffolder and had visited the previous weekend.
However, a strip-search revealed a package of cocaine weighing 41.66 grams stashed internally - with a street value of £10,500.
Paul Le Monnier, Senior Manager at JCIS, says it is essential to prevent illegal substances from entering Jersey.
“JCIS Officers continue to work hard at the borders to stop illegal drugs from reaching the streets of Jersey and those that are arrested and prosecuted face lengthy terms of imprisonment.”
