A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed at the Morrisons Daily in Castle Quay.
Police officers and paramedics were quickly on the scene following reports of a stabbing at the store in Rue de L'etau just before 1.30pm on Saturday (18 November).
A 34-year-old woman, believed to be a worker at the store, was stabbed multiple times by a man who then fled the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance and remains there in a serious condition.
A 55-year-old man, who police say is known to the victim, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
Armed police were deployed to the scene and a large number of force vehicles could be seen lining the road outside the shop which remains closed.
Police say they would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident. They can call police on 01534 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org

Police officers cordoned off the area and a forensics tent has since been placed at the entrance to the store.
