Jersey's most popular baby names revealed

There are some new picks of boys and girls names in Jersey's top 10 lists for 2025.

698 babies were born in Jersey last year, with one boy for every day of of the year, outnumbering the girls by 32.

Phoebe, Ivy and Ellie were the top girls' names.

Phoebe was ranked 8th in 2023, while Ivy was last in the top 10 in 2016.  Ellie last featured in 2021.

Penelope broke into the top ten for first time in at least a decade at number seven, perhaps as people fell in love with Lady Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan in Netflix's Bridgerton.

Gracie was another new entry for 2025.  Freya, Daisy and Luna have all made a comeback, while Amelia and Olivia have both featured frequently in the past 10 years.

Noah, Oscar and Theodore were the most popular names with the parents of boys last year. 

Noah takes top spot after falling out of favour in 2023 and 2024 despite featuring in the top 10 for seven of the past 10 years

Theodore has dropped to third from first place in 2024.

Cody is a new appearance on the list, perhaps with hopes of creating a surfing prodigy like the character of Cody Maverick in the animation Surf's Up.

Tommy is another new addition.

Charlie returns for the first time since 2018, but there's no spot for Luca or Lucas  - one or both names have featured in seven of the previous nine years.

Top ten for girls: Phoebe, Ivy, Ellie, Gracie, Daisy, Luna, Amelia, Penelope, Olivia, Freya. 

Top ten for boys: Noah, Oscar, Theodore, Archie, Charlie, Leo, Theo, Tommy, Freddie, Cody.
