Top dogs from both Guernsey and Jersey are competing for the ultimate regional honours – celebrating excellence across all breeds and dog sports.
The Channel Islands' warm-up for Crufts returns this weekend, as dogs and their owners compete for the highest regional honour of Channel Islands' Dog of the Year.
The event hosts competitors from Guernsey and the UK.
More than 50 dogs are expected at the Royal Showground in Trinity on Saturday (14 February) to compete in various events, including agility, sport, and obedience.
The show, from 9 am to 1 pm, is free to watch.
Lorraine Stuart-Smith, President of The Kennel Club for Jersey, says it's great that people travel over for the event:
"We get a lot of the same people, but we are also getting a lot more people coming from the UK, which is great because there have been deals for them to be able to come over.
"It's 'the more the merrier!' It's lovely to see the variety, and they {visitors} get a break too. Our island is beautiful and very dog-friendly.
"Some people are flying from Guernsey. We're hoping that there will be inter-island sailings coming soon
"Rather than pitting each other, you are going up against the breed standard.
"It is quite tricky for the judge. Each judge will have to say which of these dogs are closest to their breed standard."
The 2025 Channel Island Dog of the Year was three year old Tibetan Terrier Mika from Guernsey.
