A 34-year-old Jersey man has been jailed for two and a half years after being found guilty of five counts of making and possessing indecent images of children.
Daniel Heaney was found guilty in the Royal Court in October.
He was arrested in June 2019 after Jersey Police received information linking Heaney to a broader investigation into child abuse images conducted by a UK police force.
Devices owned by Heaney were then seized and indecent images of children were found.
He has also been placed on the sex offenders register for seven years.
"The expertise and evidence presented at trial earlier this year by the States of Jersey Police High Tech Crime Unit played a key role in securing this conviction.
"Anyone who has concerns about suspected Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation can contact the MASH on 519000 or the Public Protection Unit at Police Headquarters via 612612. Dewberry House can be contacted on 888222." - States of Jersey Police.
