Investigation Into Suspicious Grands Vaux Fire

Police are appealing for information about a suspicious fire at Grands Vaux.

A car was found alight near the Morrisons store at around 11:15pm last Sunday (13 June). It was put out and no-one was hurt.

Officers want to speak to anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time. They are particularly interested in hearing from a man who was driving a white van, who stopped and spoke to a witness.

They're also looking for a red petrol canister.

A 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested and released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call the police on 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
