More than 2,100 runners took part, with hundreds spread across the course to show their support.

Henry Baye, CEO of Standard Chartered Jersey, said:

"What makes the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon so special is the people behind it. From every runner who took on a challenge, to the volunteers, organisers and supporters who brought such energy to St Helier, today was a brilliant celebration of community spirit.

"We are incredibly proud to support an event that brings the island together and creates a positive impact for local charities and young people. Congratulations to everyone who took part and thank you to all those who helped make the day such a success."

The fastest Jersey athlete across the line was James Oliver, with a time of 2:36:33.

He said:

"It was a good day out, I enjoyed it. Lovely weather as well and a great atmosphere out of the course.

"Just glad to get finished and now probably have a beer and relax for the day!

"It's always great, especially when you've got your friends and family over here, it's always nice to have a great reception when you cross the line after a gruelling 26 miles."
