Four people had to be rescued last night from a smoke-filled flat, after a fire in a first-floor apartment in St Clement.
Jersey Fire and Rescue were called just after 10 pm, and three fire engines, 18 firefighters and a duty station commander attended the scene just off Maupertuis Lane in St Clement.
The fire was brought under control in around ten minutes.
Whilst the flats had been evacuated, four people were trapped inside by smoke and were brought to safety by crew using smoke hoods.
No one was injured, but the Ambulance Service treated some people on scene for smoke inhalation.
Colleagues from the States of Jersey Police and Honorary Police assisted with traffic and scene cordons.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
