Flytipping investigation launched after mounds of earth dumped in Trinity

Three large mounds of earth have been dumped in a Trinity car park, which is being called 'completely unacceptable'.

An investigation into who is responsible for this flytipping, which has appeared in the car park on Rue de la Petite Falaise.

The parish believes the soil and turf have all come from the same site.

Philip Le Seuer, Constable of Trinity, said:

"We're working actively with the Department of Environment - this type of conduct is completely unacceptable, particularly in Jersey here we have such good recycling and waste disposal facilities available.

"It's been two or three visits to the site, it's not just a one-off, and there are two locations in the parish that I'm certainly aware of today where this has actually happened.

"It's actually in a public park where they've done this, it's just unbelievable.

"It's unusual that we get this, this happens very now and again, but not to this extent. You see these pictures of flytipping in the UK and we just don't need to go there.

"There's going to be a cost to somebody, I hope it's not going to be to the public purse to actually get rid of this material."

The parish has also been alerted to another possible incident of flytipping on Les Platons, which has been sent to the relevant authority.
