A picture on Jersey's Liberation 75 mosaic has been torn off.
Police are investigating the malicious damage to the artwork outside Liberation Station which happened sometime overnight on Thursday.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to report it.
"Sometime between 17:00 on Thursday 12 and 09:00 on Friday 13 November a picture has been torn from the vinyl on the wall causing damage to the artwork.
Anyone who may have seen this or who has any information is asked to contact police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org"
The mosaic, which over 1,000 square feet and features the faces of 6,070, was unveiled in September to mark 75 years since the end of the Occupation.
