There is relief for people trying to get to the UK by boat, with a first sailing to Portsmouth since Sunday night expected to leave tonight (23 April).
DFDS has announced its operating the Stena Vinga and bringing back the Cote D'Albatre to clear a backlog of stranded passengers.
Portsmouth crossings have been cancelled since Monday (20 April), leaving hundreds of people stuck.
An extra sailing of the Levante Jet fast ferry is running from Poole today.
The Stena Vinga, which was stuck in dry dock in Falmouth because of the winds, is now on the move.
DFDS says it is due to depart St Helier for Portsmouth at 10pm on Thursday.
There will also be a Cote D'Albatre overnight service from Portsmouth, and both ships will operate an outbound crossing tomorrow.
In a statement, DFDS said "Due to this week’s exceptional circumstances causing cancellations, DFDS is also offering affected passengers a refund of their affected travel leg, a complimentary future booking, and inviting customers to make contact if they have incurred accommodation costs."
