'Significant' savings are expected to the public purse when Jersey's government takes over the running of AquaSplash.
The management takeover, announced on Monday, will take effect in October 2026.
Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan has told Channel 103 it will lead to a 'significant saving'.
He hasn't given any numbers, and we're told officials are working on the details of the transition and new operating model', but it comes after the annual taxpayer subsidy to Serco Ltd to operate the facility rose to more than £1 million.
"Currently, we give money to AquaSplash towards the running of that facility.
"The (Infrastructure) team have done a lot of work with the AquaSplash team, and we have decided it would be more efficient for us to take over the running of the AquaSplash ourselves.
"The fact that we run several swimming pools around the island will make it more efficient for us to bring it in-house."

It's unclear what the change to it being an 'Active' venue will mean in term of the price people pay to swim.
Serco (Jersey) Ltd, which has been running the pool since 2003, will continue to operate it until 30 September 2026.
Currently, it costs between £4.75 for children and £8.75 for adults for 45 minutes of lane swimming in the 25-metre fitness pool.
The flat rate for admission to the leisure pool session is £9.30 for anyone over the age of six.
Lessons range from £29.99 to £54.50, and memberships cost up to £49.95 a month or £399 for an annual membership.
Swimming in at Les Quennevais is £5.35 for adults and £3.50 for children and senior citizens. A month swim pass is £33.40 for adults.
Constable Jehan said the government needs to work out the offering to the public:
"We have members of AquaSplash and members of Active, and we want to see what we can do with both of those going forward once we take over."

The government says children's swimming lessons will continue as usual until the end of next September, and if there are any changes, members will be notified.
