Currently, the company has 109 charging points across the island but says that EV technology has developed rapidly in recent years.
The money will go towards making the network more accessible, convenient and cost-effective for islanders and businesses alike.
It will also make charging electric cars easier for people visiting Jersey.

Chris Ambler, CEO of Jersey Electricity, says that the upgrade will help the island's plans for a zero-carbon future.
"As more people switch to low-carbon transportation, in line with the Government’s Carbon Neutral Roadmap and the recently announced plans for a government subsidy to buy EVs, the network is ready for investment now to meet the future demand for public charging."
In January, Climate Change Minister, Deputy Hilary Jeune told Channel 103 that the government would be announcing plans to subsidise the cost of an electric car later this year.
The new public charging platform is expected to be rolled out over the next six months.
