States Works Clean Up Mess Left By Storm Ciara

States Workers have been busy clearing up the mess left by Storm Ciara along the West Coast

Teams have been clearing a mixture of stones, shingle and seaweed along L'Eree, Vazon and Perelle.

Flood barriers had been installed in preparation for Storm Ciara and they seem to have done the job.

The West Coast's flood warning has been dropped to a simple tide warning, however we're still being asked to take care on the West Coast today.

States Works Senior Manager, Matt Hardwick, has released the following statement:

“States Works teams had installed the flood barriers at Perelle on Saturday in preparation for the arrival of Storm Ciara, and it looks like these have done their job. This, combined with the residents’ efforts to keep drainage gullies clear of seaweed, has prevented any flooding in what is often a vulnerable coastal area.”

Workers also reported fallen trees and put up signs where necessary.
