Aurigny says visibility last Thursday (27 April) was so poor that it had to stop using its new ClearVision technology on its fleet of ATR aircraft.
Widespread fog created travel chaos at the Channel Islands' airports.
In a statement, Aurigny says that legal limits for landing visibility were to blame:
"ClearVision allows aircraft to land under reduced visibility conditions, where otherwise not possible.
On Thursday (27 April) four of Aurigny's ATR flights were able to land, despite the foggy conditions, through the assistance of Clear Vision technology.
But, when visibility deteriorates below certified minimums, no flights can land."

The airline secured a $60 million loan from the States of Guernsey in 2018 to buy the new aircraft, fitted with the technology from manufacturer ATR.
Pilot training was disrupted by the pandemic, but the onboard tech is now used when conditions and safety limits allow.
