The Channel Islands' top politicians have met for the final time ahead of Guernsey's upcoming general election.
Deputies Lyndon Farnham and Lyndon Trott got together on Friday to "discuss matters of mutual interest to our islands", according to Jersey's Chief Minister.
Deputy Farnham also paid tribute to his namesake on his last day in Guernsey's States. who is retiring after 25 years in island politics.
In a post on social media, Deputy Farnham said: "I was delighted to spend some time in Guernsey with fellow Chief Minister (and namesake) Deputy Lyndon Trott OBE to discuss matters of mutual interest to our Islands - but also to recognise his long service to Guernsey on his last day in the Guernsey States of Deliberation before the election.
"I wish him well in his political retirement and thank him for all he has done for the Channel Islands during his long political career."
Deputy Trott has held the bailiwick's top political role twice during his time in the States. Firstly as Chief Minister between 2008-2012, and more recently taking on the role of President of the Policy & Resources Committee since 2023.
The visiting Jersey politician also thanked Guernsey Deputies for their hospitality and wished them well in the upcoming election, writing: "I would also like to thank the Guernsey States for their warm welcome this afternoon when I was honoured to be a guest in the public gallery.
"My best wishes to those who will be standing in June, or a relaxing retirement to those who are not.
"I look forward to working with the next Guernsey government and their new Chief Minister."
Candidates standing for election to the States of Deliberation will be nominated between 12-14 May ahead of islanders going to the polls on 18 June.
