The football tournament between Guernsey FC and FC Isle of Man has been postponed.
Ongoing border restrictions announced by both islands’ governments means that those who haven't been fully-vaccinated would not be able to travel without isolating.
That includes the majority of both islands' players.
Plans for the Skipton Cup games - the first of which was scheduled for 17 July - have now been pushed back to 2022.
Guernsey FC's Communications Director Nic Legg says the circumstances are unfortunate but it is the right decision to make.
“Plans were already well underway, with tickets sold and planes chartered. We had high hopes for two keenly-fought matches, and couldn’t wait to travel to the Isle of Man for the first match on 17th July, but sadly it’s not to be.
“The safety of our players and fans is paramount to us, and we have no option but to follow the official guidelines. We will be in touch with those who have already booked tickets shortly.”
