Guernsey Museums report a 3% increase in visitor numbers

Around 75,000 separate visits were made to Guernsey Museum attractions in 2026.

The figure represents a 3% increase on last year and the head of culture and heritage, Helen Glencross, says it is a positive way to end the season:

“As of this weekend we are delighted to have welcomed almost 75,000 visitors across our museum sites, continuing the steady growth we have seen in recent years and demonstrating the strong appeal of Guernsey's heritage offer."

Castle Cornet remains the most prominent heritage site and as well as day visitors, it attracted around 2,300 people for the late summer Twilight Cinema screenings.

The Cup and Saucer and the Naval Signals HQ bunker close on Sunday (1 November) while Castle Cornet shut earlier than usual to allow for the reconstruction of the bridge that links it to Guernsey.

However, the Noon Day Gun will be fired from there for the Armistice commemorations although it will not be a public event.

Candie Museum remains open and has Hallowe'en themed events today and tomorrow plus the ongoing Lego exhibition until the end of the year.
