The moment a wheel fell off a British Airways plane shortly after it took off has been captured on video.
The rear wheel separated from what is believed to be a London-bound Airbus A350-1000 as it left Las Vegas on Monday.
As the aircraft climbed, a shadowy wheel was seen dropping from the back section of the landing gear.
The BA plane departed from Harry Reid International Airport in the Nevada city around 9.10pm local time on Monday when the incident occurred.
The plane continued safely across the Atlantic and landed in London, according to flightradar24, 27 minutes earlier than scheduled.
It was not clear what caused the issue with the wheel.
In a statement, British Airways said: "Safety and security underpins everything we do and we're supporting the authorities with their investigations."
Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) said it was "aware of an incident involving a British Airways aircraft that departed LAS last night and continued on to London, where it landed safely without further incident".
The tyre was retrieved from the airfield, and there were no reported injuries or damage to airport property, the spokesperson added.
