A major air and sea search was sparked for two children off Jersey's east coast after a paddle board was found washed up at Archirondel.
Drones, lifeboats and the Channel Islands Air Search plane were deployed by Jersey Coastguard on Saturday evening following reports that two young boys had been seen on the board before it was found on shore.
Coastguard shared a photo of the board on social media, asking for urgent information:
"A paddle board has been washed up at Archirondel. Two ten year old children were seen on the board 15 minutes before it was washed up.
"If anyone has any information on the paddle board shown in the photo or two missing boys, approximately ten years of age, dark hair and 5 foot tall."
A full-scale co-ordinated response involved the St Catherine and St Helier RNLI inshore lifeboats and the CIAS plane.
Shortly after 8pm, Jersey Coastguard said it had suspended the operation 'after completing an extensive search of the area with multiple assets'.
"Jersey Coastguard would like to thank all the assets that assisted in the search and to the public for sharing our post."
Jersey Police said: "No children have been reported missing at this time and the current hypothesis is that this board was left unattended and has blown away from its owners."
