A man has been rescued from rocks near Elizabeth Castle in what Jersey Fire and Rescue have called a 'near-fatal incident'.
They worked together with Jersey's Coastguard to rescue him late on Thursday evening.
He was found near the La Vrachiere beacon, having been cut off by the rising tide.
The man was treated for exposure and returned safely to the slipway near La Frigate by the inshore lifeboat.
Jersey Fire & Rescue are reminding islanders that the nature of the island's tidal range means we should take care to avoid being cut off by the rising tide.
