States of Jersey Police used social media to highlight their campaign, and encouraged people to follow them on Instagram to see where they are focusing their efforts.

SOJP said the weekend of 'visible enforcement and prevention activity' was in response to the recent high number of speeding convictions and collisions.

"Recent collisions and speeding convictions have shown the real impact dangerous driving can have, not just on those involved, but on everyone caught up in the aftermath. From serious injuries to roads being closed for hours, the consequences can be felt across the whole community.

"We don’t want to have to call up your loved ones to let them know you’ve either been involved in an RTC or that you’ve caused one."

The force also issued a reminder about driving to the road conditions:

"We’re stating the obvious, roads are slippery when wet. Stopping distances on wet roads are at least double those required on dry roads because water reduces tyre grip and friction."

The weekend of action comes just days after police also highlighted how too many people are still getting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol.

So far this year, 81 people have been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, with 68 charges, in Jersey - a 13% increase on the same period in 2025.
