The next stage of roadworks on the St Martin's main road starts today, and Jersey Water will be digging up Route Du Fort
You won't be able to get to the Five Oaks roundabout from La Grande Route de St Martin as the southbound lane will be closed.
Diversions are in place from Maufant Village via La Hougue Bie to Five Oaks.
The northbound stretch has reopened, having been closed for the past fortnight.
"We have finished the improvement works to the northbound pavements and vehicle access points and thank motorists for their patience during this time. As we now enter the second phase of work, it means changing the diversion route around, meaning access to the roundabout from Maufant heading towards St Helier will be affected." - Rob Cabot, Highway Maintenance Manager.
Commuters are being advised to allow extra time for their journey into town.
The disruption at Five Oaks follows a three week division in June for urgent sewage tanks repairs, and a further five weeks of closures along the main road to St Martin during the summer holidays.
The project is expected to continue until 1st December 2019.
Full information is available at gov.je/roadworks and on the Government of Jersey’s social media pages. Information on changes to the bus schedule during the works are available on www.libertybus.je or by calling 828555.
Meanwhile, roadworks also start today in Georgetown.
Jersey Water is replacing old pipes.
Delays are expected along Route du Fort - starting near the Co-op and continuing in sections towards the Rice Bowl until Christmas.
Motorists are being advised to follow diversions and use other routes.
