An extended programme of direct flights abroad is on offer this winter.
FlyDirect is launching an extended programme of flights to Tenerife from Jersey and Guernsey due to growing demand.
It is offering more than 30 departure dates for the 2026-27 season - 20 from Jersey and 13 from Guernsey.
The flights, operated by airBaltic, fall during October and February half term holidays, Christmas, New Year, and in Jersey, Easter holidays.
It takes around four hours to fly from the Channel Islands to Tenerife South which is the gateway to resorts like Los Cristianos and Las Americas.
CI Travel Group MD Robert MacKenzie is looking forward to working with airBaltic.
“We were so pleased, after many years, to be able to offer a direct winter sun programme for a short season this year. The response we received, encouraged us to offer an extended programme of flights and package holidays this winter, to the island of Tenerife.
"The airBaltic Airbus A220 aircraft offers greater leg room, 23kg baggage allowance included as well as free on-board Starlink Wi-Fi.
"We believe both our regular clients to Tenerife and new customers will be delighted with the airline’s service. So, we are particularly pleased to be extending our relationship with the carrier into next winter.”
7 and 14-night stays are being made available, in addition to longer trips on some dates and one-way flights for greater flexibility.
Guernsey Airport’s Director Richard Thomasson says people can fly direct to Tenerife from Guernsey for the first time.
“Building on last winter’s success of the Gran Canaria route, we are delighted to add Tenerife to the network operating for an extended period this year and into 2027.
"This will offer greater flexibility and choice with customers being able to fly direct from Guernsey to the Canary Islands.
"We received extremely positive feedback on the total customer experience from last winter’s service and I am sure the new destination will prove equally popular with islanders seeking some winter sun.”
Passengers can book to travel to Tenerife from Guernsey on Mondays and on a Saturday from Jersey.
Paul Holley, Head of Connectivity for Ports of Jersey, said:
“We are delighted to welcome FlyDirect’s expanded winter programme to Tenerife, providing even greater choice and convenience for Island travellers.
"The introduction of direct services in January for the first time marks an exciting step forward, giving more people improved access to a popular winter sun destination.”
