A man needed hospital treatment after being attacked in St Helier with a metal object.
A suspect has been arrested following the assault, which left the 50-year-old victim bleeding heavily from the head.
It happened at around 4.30pm on Saturday, on the corner of Aquila Road and Clare Street, near to the Randalls Brewery site.
The injured man was seen by medics at A&E and discharged shortly afterwards.
A 28-year-old man was arrested for Grave and Criminal Assault and released on Police bail.
The older man was wearing beige trousers and a green jacket, with the suspect described as white, in his late 20s, around 5' 6" tall and clean shaven. He was wearing a t-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms and had a blue sling or cast on his left arm.
