Jersey Royal Court has jailed a 73-year-old for two years after an attempt to sneak £65,000 of amphetamine into the island.
Paul Cassidy attempted to smuggle his haul of drugs into the island by catching the ferry from Poole on 12 October 2024.
The elderly man hid the amphetamine in a green package stuffed under his car and in his wallet.
The drugs, with a street value of £65,000, were discovered in a car he was using by Customs and Immigration officers.

When officers initially stopped him, he gave them a driving license with the name 'Edward Bushell' claiming he wanted to stay in Jersey for two days but missed his ferry the evening before.
After a search of the Vauxhall Astra, a green taped package was found under the car between the fuel tank and the vehicle's chassis.
Cassidy tried to deny knowledge of the package containing 810 grams of amphetamine.
A further 8.6 grams was found in the 73-year-old's wallet.

When interviewed Paul Cassidy admitted using a false identity and claimed the drugs in his wallet were given to him for personal use.
He denied knowing about the package under the car, saying he brought the Vauxhall to Jersey on behalf of someone else who he decided not to name.
