Jersey's inshore lifeboat was called out after reports of an upturned vessel east of Gorey.
Jersey Coastguard requested the launch of the Albert Pinel at 9:28am yesterday (Wednesday).
Fishing vessels in the area also reported seeing the upturned vessel as the lifeboat was en-route, allowing Jersey Coastguard to prepare and relay search instructions for crew to follow on arrival.
Just before starting the search, the crew found the upturned hull and started assessing the situation - with the stowage position of the outboard motor, the presence of broken mooring gear, and marks on the vessel relayed to Jersey Coastguard.

Given there was no evidence of anyone in the water, and the potential hazard the overturned vessel posed, a decision was made to right the vessel and tow it back safely to Gorey.
The Jersey Lifeboat Association said:
"With the crew managing to right the vessel safely and establishing a tow back to Gorey, the crew were met by the Ports of Jersey Marine Services team, who recovered the vessel ashore.
"Albert Pinel was subsequently stood down and returned to St Helier. The boat and equipment were then washed down, checked, and made ready for the next tasking.
"A great effort from our volunteer crew, supported by the valuable information provided by local fishing vessels in the area and the co-ordination of Jersey Coastguard."
