Primary school teams are in the UK, competing in the national finals for the F1 STEM racing competition.
The teams recently competed in Digital Jersey’s F1 STEM Racing in Schools event in Jersey.
For the event, they designed, built, secured sponsorship for, and raced their own miniature F1 car.
The Flaming Falcons from La Moye School
Almost 200 primary students from eight different schools competed in the event, with the top three teams being:
- 1st Place: The Flaming Falcons LM (La Moye Primary School)
- 2nd Place: The Sharpies (Grouville School)
- 3rd Place: Takedown (FCJ Primary School)
They have travelled to Rotherham to represent the island in the national finals.

The Sharpies from Grouville School had the opportunity to meet former Formula 1 driver Derek Warwick, who was highly impressed with both the car design and the school’s commitment to STEM education.
The local competition - initially launched in Jersey in 2024 for secondary school students - was hosted by Digital Jersey at the Royal Showground.
