Jersey pubs can stay open later for England vs Mexico

License extensions have been granted to venues that want to screen England's World Cup match on Monday morning.

The Bailiff’s Chambers has agreed to let venues stay open until 4 am, so they can screen the England vs Mexico game that kicks off at 1 am on Monday, 6 July.

It says it has consulted with representatives of industry, the States of Jersey Police and Honorary Police on the decision.

Last orders will be at 3.30 am, and venues housing over 60 people will need security.

Each venue that currently holds an extension permit must notify the Bailiff’s Chambers via email to bailiffschambers@courts.je by midday on Saturday, 4 July, of whether they intend to open to screen the match.

Guernsey pubs must shut at 2 am, with no change to the rules.
