Amazon hasn't given a reason for the longer waits for goods to be dispatched to the island.

Jersey Post says it delivers items as soon as they are received on the island, usually within 24 hours.

It says it is working with Amazon to understand the cause of the delays.

Tom Wasilewski, Chief Commercial Officer at Jersey Post, explains what they have control over in delivery:

"Jersey Post is only responsible for the items once we collect them from the Amazon depot.

"We then bring them to our consolidation point in the UK and then ship them on the first available ferry to the island.

"Then we ensure we deliver within 24 hours of arrival.

"We are working with them [Amazon] to identify where we can increase collections.

"I can't comment on the cause from Amazon's perspective, of why they were quoting long delivery lead times, but from our perspective, the operation is working within its usual service specification."
