Jersey performer announces Edinburgh Fringe set

Wayne says the show grew from a journal that he never expected anyone to read

Jersey writer and performer Wayne Stewart has confirmed a full run at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

His 50-mile solo walk across France in 2021 has now landed Wayne Stewart in Edinburgh

In his show, Wayne retraces his journey from Saint-Malo in Brittany to Argeles-sur-Mer on the Mediterranean, a journey that began as just a walk, but evolved into a deeper exploration of meaning, resilience and our shared need for human connection.

His show Chrome Yellow blends storytelling, travel journal entries, and original song in an attempt to understand why he did it, and whether it meant anything at all.

Wayne Stewart is a Jersey-born and based writer, director, performer, and teacher who began his theatre journey at Jersey Art Centre's YouTheatre.

He says he'll be performing the show a total of 22 times over the festival:

"It's such an incredible opportunity, and the very fact that I'm doing it is a real testament to the organisations that we have in Jersey - Jersey Art Centre for nurturing my creativity from a young age, and onto ArtHouse Jersey, who have been so incredible in facilitating all this.

"I started working with the Art Centre back when I was a teenager, they've been there from a very early age."

Wayne will perform his one-man show at the ZOO Southside (Studio) venue for 22 performances between Friday, 1 and Sunday, 24 August 2025, at 12:25 pm each day, excluding 12 and 19 August.
