The Jersey FA have put together a series of events this month to encourage more girls to play football.
It includes coaches taking sessions in primary schools – and a year 5 and 6 ‘girls only’ football festival.
JFA Coach Lucy Even says participation is growing all the time – but could still be better.
“It’s a perfect chance for us to use the month to promote everything that we’re doing for girls football.
“We’ve seen a huge increase in girls and women taking part in football in the last few years, so this month is really a chance for us to get more girls and women involved and show everyone what there is to take part in.”
The football festival takes place on 28th November – it will see more than 200 girls representing their schools at Springfield Stadium 3G.
The SSE Wildcats Programme, which aims to encourage 5-11-year-olds into football, will also be delivered throughout the month:
Wednesdays: 4-5pm, Springfield Stadium 3G, 25 girls
Thursdays: 3:15pm-4:15pm, Janvrin School 3G, 30 girls (Permission by the school first)
Saturday morning: 11-12pm, Haute Vallee 3G, 40 girls
Pubs can stay open until 2am to show some World Cup games
