Jersey Bulls' chances of promotion are gone after losing 2-1 to AFC Croydon Athletic in the Combined Counties South play-offs at Springfield stadium.
The London based side took the lead in the 24th minute after Michael Phillips scored a header from a Reece Hannam free kick.
Jersey Bulls equalised through a Luke Campbell header at the back post after Lorne Bickley missed a penalty just a few minutes prior.
Croydon, who are owned by former Premier League footballer Wilfried Zaha and British rapper Stormzy, took the lead in the 69th minute through a Richard Pingling tap in after a mistake from the Jersey Bulls defence.
Bulls were unable to capitalise on their late flurry of chances around the Croydon penalty box to send the match to penalties.
After the match, Bulls' manager Gary Freeman told Channel 103:
"I am so proud of the players and the way they worked, all through the season. It was always going to be a tight game.
They finished the season really strong, and I think it showed again today that they never give up. They keep fighting for the shirt. Unfortunately we couldn't really create a clear chance to nick an equaliser."
