Jersey airport to open early due to broken scanner

On Friday 28 November the airport will open at 5 am as it anticipates security delays due to a broken scanner.

Jersey Airport is opening at 5 am tomorrow (28 November) as there will only be one CT scanner at security.

It's opening half an hour early to allow more time for security queues as islanders catch their red-eye flights.

Sarah Louise-Stubbs, Head of Customer and Terminal Operations, says their engineer will be with them first thing in the morning to fix the problem with the second scanner.

She is asking all islanders flying before midday to give themselves more time, and for islanders flying on the first flights to arrive as the airport opens.

Earlier in the month, many islanders missed their flights due to long delays at the security.

Ports say they are opening the airport earlier to reduce to likelihood of similar disruption.
