The family of a Jersey policeman who died suddenly while playing football, are having one last memorial run for him next month.
The Jayson Lee 10k Memorial Run has become an annual fixture in the running calendar since it began as an intended 'one-off' 16 years ago.
But thanks to support from the island's running and fundraising community, it has continued for 16 years and raised around £95,000 for Jersey Hospice Care.
The Lees set up the run after their family member and well-loved policeman Jayson died suddenly in 2009 while playing football for St John's.

His brothers and mum Margaret decided to set up the event with her sons, to raise money for Jersey Hospice Care, as Jayson was very passionate about the charity during his life.

This year, the 16th and final run falls on Jayson's birthday, which Margaret Lee says will be a very special way to bring the annual event to a close:
"Because it falls on Jayson's birthday, he would have been 54 on the 25 August 2024 this year.
"It's going to be a tricky day for us, but we'll get through it and it will be very special.
"It is very emotional because you're running on the road and I'm not fast so everybody is in front of me and you see all these people running, and they're all running because Jayson is not here.
"We are only able to put on this event because Jayson is not here but, because he's not here, we've been able to raise a fabulous amount of money for Jersey Hospice Care, so it is very bittersweet."

The event is on 25 August at FB Fields in St Clement, with entry being £12.50.
This location is very poignant for Jayson's family, as it was where he played his last game of football before he passed away in 2009.
Margaret Lee says anyone is welcome, regardless of ability:
"Anybody can come, it's not a race, it's a memorial run.
"If people wake up on the 25th of August and feel like doing it, they can come down to the fields and register on the day and take part, they can help us raise that magic number of £100,000.
"100% of the entry fee goes to Jersey Hospice Care, which is something we are very proud of."
